Globetrotting DJ and activist Akio Kawahito AKA DJ ID made his name as one of the founders of the Kool Out Lounge in Cape Town, which has since evolved into one of Mzanzi's premier hip-hop venues allowing international DJs to showcase their skills locally.
As part of one of South Africa's top DJ Crews, Akio has performed alongside artists like Slum Village, Ready D, People Under The Stars, DJ Babu, Tumi and HHP. He has also performed at festivals including Synergy, Oppikoppi, EARTHDANCE and STR CRD.
