DOPE:Street Art

Well it seems like people are really starting to respond to street culture in our Jozi(JoHo).Went to see my friend Russ at Arts on Main to checkout his latest project:Bioskop(cinema) that he has been working on at Mainstreet life and I checked this out and the very same day went to the Pastry office in Newtown and i checked another piece similar to this but bigger!I don't know who the artist is but we really think his/her work is dope!!!!!!!!We gotta track this artist down and do something.........

DOPE Combo!

Well you must know this guy by now...malumekoolkat(1 half of the Dirty paraffin with Spizee)put together this DOPE combo!This look blends in so well even though his matching colours...but the trick is making it blend in.We still getting a lot of kids at the store trying to match their sneakers with a tee but we always try to advise our customers,young and old that it doesn't always have to match...but it always has to blend in!looking good plus we lovin the Nike lunar x Nunca chukka!

Mpendulo for bona magazine

Well a friend of a friend told Mpendulo that we've been doing styling work for a few industry people.So when BONA magazine called him up for a photo shoot for his favourite everyday look....He wanted the DOPE look!Since he's been shopping at our for his boxfresh fix...(Mpendulo is a heavy boxfresh collector)he asked us to come along.It was fun day out for the team and we were playing basketball in between takes.But it was actually fun to see it on print.

Kamza was at the store again last week.He is actually around the store a lot these days.Guess the service/feel of the product in the store is quiet dope.Kamza always goes for the hard to find products...He got the nike x jarvis rejuven8 sneaker as well as Air max1 QS sneaker from the sneaker lounge.He's always been wanting the AM1 and he actually called in to find out if they were still around.Lucky him because it was the last pair.

Welcome to the DOPEstore Cheap Monday Jeans.Well we did say we are taking one step at a time.Cheap Monday is from Denmark and are very strong in the skinny jeans market!they always doing the Dopest washes and cuts.They are a bit fashion forward which is one of the reason's we love this brand!We are looking at expending our line with this brand next season because people have welcomed it with open arms and the response has been very good.So look out for a menswear line,formal line and a bigger ladies range from July onwards!

Welcome to DOPEstore True Religion Jeans.We are now working True Religion as the official supplier to this ultra exclusive premium denim brand!We shot our lookbook last nite and Spike really looked so Dope with 'em jeans.The slim cut is really our favourite with that crazy wash!Peeps will sleep on em but this summer you will see why they are worth the price tag!The original ones are strictly for the B.E.E's LOL!

One Step Closer!!!!!!!!!

Well we have just finished doing the floor of what is going to be our home section and its looking fuckin DOPE!Look at how the store is devided now into sections!All those who are part of this journey......you have seen us grow from a little shop upstairs to now having six departments......menswear street,ladieswear street,sneaker lounge,store instore(boxfresh),Homewear(june 2010),formal wear(july2010)......That is six out seven.There will be one more department to open later this........stay tuned!

Back 2 The City by Urban Mosadi

Well this is the best way by far to document an event.Photography is such a great way to tell a story,We were at this event but we were working so we couldn't get involved in everything that was going on but we knew our girl was there doing her thing.She came thru to our stand and had a hot choc and we had a really nice chat about fashion and photography which was dope.

Well this is Vincent Paolo and he's from Holland and he came thru to our store cause he's been a keen follower of our blog!When he came thru it was just him........lights........cameras an all that was missin was the groupies.....LOL!But yea he really loved the store,he says its actually better in person and suggest's we do a video tour!!!He drop'd some euros and he got himself some DOPE gear!Yea he's in S.A workin on some music with local artist's.

Nike X True Colours X Kronk Launch

Well its finally here the 1st ever major brand collab in South Africa.I mean it had to happen at some point and the World Cup was the perfect excuse for it!Mr Kronk you did your thing and the product is for sure best!Delivery was suppose to come in on friday to the store but we still waitin..............?we'll keep you updated!

The new iphone.
Well i personally love this fone and i blog for the store so DOPEstore loves the iphone.we take most of our pictures from the iphone so we find it best.But the best thing about this new phone is the story of how it got out:"an apple employee left it at a bar somewhere in America,when he n his mates got sloshed!"thats crazy its like Nike shipping us 2015 sneakers by mistake how dope would that be?

Well we been tellin you that Dirty Paraffin are for real so now Elle magazine has done a feature on them sayin they are the next biggest thing to hit S.A music.Well this issue is out now!so go n get it to find out more.

Yo we collaborated with Streetwear brand Boxfresh for a stand at this year's Back to the City festival and it so dope!We created a lounge where everybody could come thru and hangout,grab a hot chocolate,have a go on our Playstation 3 and checkout our A/W collection plus Boxfresh footwear.Our friends from Thesis were there,Siya 'Scoop" was threre,Sanele 'snitch' fron Nike was there,Mome was there,Malumekoolkat was there,our girl Urbanmosadi also came thru just to name a few peeps.But overall the goal was just show people the vibe that they would get if they were in our store.We sell the cool.
